How we research our guides
Our wedding guides are signed Vows.sg Editorial. They are researched and edited by the Vows.sg team for couples getting married in Singapore. Here is how we check what goes into them.
Prices come from the vendor, with a date
When a guide quotes a price, it comes from the vendor's own website or published price list, and we say when we checked it and link the source. Prices change, so treat them as a starting point and confirm with the vendor before you book. If a vendor doesn't publish prices, we say "quote on request" instead of guessing. Our wedding planner price table is an example.
Official steps link to the official source
For solemnisation and ROM, housing and other government processes, we explain the steps in plain words and link the official page, such as marriage.gov.sg and hdb.gov.sg. Rules and forms change, so check the official page before you act.
Traditions vary by family
Customs such as the guo da li, tea ceremony and gatecrash differ between dialect groups, cultures and families. We describe common practice in Singapore and point out where it usually differs. Your parents and elders have the final say on what your family does.
Reviews and vendors stay independent
Vendors cannot pay to remove or change reviews, and featured placements are always labelled. You can read more on our About page.
Guides are kept up to date
Every guide shows when it was first published and when it was last updated. We revisit guides when prices, rules or dates change, and we review year-specific guides, such as auspicious dates, before each new planning year.
