Gatecrash questions
- How many gatecrash games should we plan?
- Four or five, including the ang bao deal at the end. That is about 30 minutes of play. Block 45 minutes in your morning, because games overrun and the tea ceremony has a fixed time.
- How much ang bao should the groom prepare for the gatecrash?
- Most couples in Singapore prepare about S$188 to S$388 in total, and some go up to S$888. Split it into many small red packets and one or two bigger ones for the final deal. Amounts ending in 8 or 9 are the usual choice; avoid 4. Agree the range with the sisters beforehand, and agree that the sisters keep what they win.
- What are the 10 promises in a gatecrash?
- The groom reads ten promises out loud at the door, from silly to serious: who does the dishes, who wakes up for the baby, that he will always choose her. The sisters keep the signed card as a keepsake. It is the Ten promises game in the Voice lock.
- How do we keep the gatecrash fun and not mean?
