Premium hotels command S$1,800–S$2,500 with grander ballrooms and stronger perks, and the luxury tier — the Shangri-Las, Capellas and Raffles of the world — starts around S$2,500 and climbs past S$4,000 for peak Saturday dinners. What “++” really means

Most venues quote “++” prices: the 10% service charge and 9% GST are added on top, and they compound — a S$2,000++ table actually bills about S$2,398 nett. Across a 25-table banquet that's nearly S$10,000 of difference, so compare venues on nett prices (use the toggle above) and budget for the nett figure. Watch the other quiet costs too: corkage if you bring your own liquor, AV overtime, additional car-park coupons, and surcharges on auspicious dates and public-holiday eves.

Negotiating your banquet package

Rates are firmer than they look, but inclusions are negotiable — especially for weekday and lunch slots, off-peak months, and when you book at wedding showcases. Ask for an extra barrel of beer, waived corkage, a day-use room upgrade, or additional invitation cards before asking for dollars off the table price. Get every agreed perk written into the contract, confirm the free-flow duration, and check the minimum table guarantee and the cancellation terms before signing — the contract, not the brochure, is what binds.
